April has also shared the stage with stars like Britney Spears, Black Eyed Peas, and Ciara! While signed to Universal Motown Records as part of the Boston based pop/r&b girl group JADA, April has done two national tours in the US and worked with music industry A-list producers and directors.

Check out what others are saying:

“The performance workshop has helped me. So much that I did it a second time! You coach others with different drills, but you also learn as a student as well. It can teach you how to be one with the music; meaning you get what the song is trying to express. Which makes it all the more amazing.” — CL
“The performance workshop helped me see how I have to create a mood and keep the audience engaged through my delivery of the song. There are multiple ways to do this, such as through body language, moving to the beat, or through facial expression. I can use these cues to my advantage to augment my delivery.” — TZ

“I liked how we would sing and then April would make us stop to tell us how we could improve our movement while singing. What really helped me was when the audience would start being really excited or angry or sad. It helped me perform even when the audience isn’t the best, and I really appreciated the experience!” — MR

Artist Feature of the Month: Isaak

If you have ever seen Isaak perform you would instantly feel brightened by his warmth and fun personality on stage. Isaak didn’t always feel at home on the stage, though. One of his most memorable performances was actually his first one, and did not involve singing at all. A couple months into guitar lessons, he volunteered to perform a solo piece in front of 400 students. He says  “I will never forget the rush of energy and adrenaline I felt for the first time as a performer. That was a huge moment in why I do this.” And “doing this” now includes singing and playing guitar.

His inspiration to get into singing came from his mother, father, and church. At church ceremonies, his parents would play up front and everyone would just “sit in silence and listen.” Their ability to captivate an audience didn’t hit him until he began those guitar lessons, thus, began his musical journey. He states music isn’t only music, it is also “a spiritual thing, not religious, but music allows me to question the extent of human existence. I am driven by how music not only lets people forget about their problems, but how it can also provide answers.”

As Isaak continues his growth as an artist, he finds he can take on a different personae while playing guitar or singing a song. He says “music allows me to burst out of my shell.” He describes himself as an a“old soul who loves the sound of 50s, 60s, and 80s rock and blues.” Luckily, his voice naturally gravitates toward this style. He credits his confidence as a performer to Patrice Peris Voice Studios.

Before taking lessons with Whitney, he says he was suppressed by all the outside voices saying pursuing a passion for music just did not make sense. Being at the studio has helped quiet those voices, at least a little. He states “Whitney and Patrice have been great mentors in driving me in the right direction as to how to improve. Whitney specifically every lesson breaks through my ego and allows me to be myself. The BIGGEST thing about the studio is that it teaches you confidence when you sing and perform.”

His current plans involve performing in front of an audience, big or small, as much as he can so he can develop his “skills of being the best rock/blues artist of [his] generation,” he recently became involved with the band “Dancing With Delilah” as the lead vocalist, and his life goal is to max-out a stadium with 60,000 people. Why that number you may ask, well, “a man can’t jump if he doesn’t know how high.” Keep your eye out for Isaak this summer outside Faneuil Hall in Boston, MA, as he was accepted to be a street performer there!

Studio Artist Lexi Zarozny Releases First Single!

On June 13th,  country artist Lexi Zaronzy released her debut original song “Highway” to all major music outlets (iTunes, Spotify, and Apple Music)  and in perfect timing!  With its catchy lyrics, alluring beat, and vocals reminiscent of her idol Kelsey Ballerini, it is destined to be on regular rotation in your set list this summer.  When talking about the song, Lexi says,  “ I really wanted to have a fun, summertime song that anyone could listen to in the car with their friends.” She hopes listeners “gain feelings of happiness and are able to dance around in the car… As I was writing the song, I imagined best friends driving in their convertible, listening to ‘Highway,’ and feeling invincible.” But the song also has an underlying story.

Although “many people imagine feeling free while just driving along with the windows down… [Lexi] wanted to incorporate a feeling of love between two people, so the song is also about love.” The story is relate-able and heartwarming, but releasing her first single means more to Lexi. This release signifies how far she has come since the start of her performance career. She says “I never thought I would have been able to achieve this, but I now know that this is only the start. Music will always be part of me and I will continuously strive to improve my career everyday.”

Although Lexi is now motivated to continue pushing her career to the next level, she needed a some encouragement to start recording her own music.  At first, ‘Highway’ was “just a few scribbles” in her notebook, but Patrice and Whitney encouraged her to actually record it. This led her to reach out to Surefire Creative Studios where she enlisted the help of Grammy – Nominated producer, Jared Hancock. She is thankful to all those who helped with the lyrics, her vocals, and  having a “constant confidence in” her because she may not have started performing otherwise.

Hear What The Others Have Said:

“Let me start by saying that this seminar/class changed my whole perspective on songwriting. Nothing is set in stone !!!! Changing and revising lyrics and music is a huge part like anything else in production. Not only did I gain perspective on song writing and lyric arrangements, but appreciated the fact it gave me a opportunity to build new connections with fellow artists. 100% worth every dollar ! BEST CLASS I HAVE EVER TAKEN IN MY LIFE! Being a professional touring and producing musician is very possible! My only complaint was that it was so good that after two days I wanted more !!!! But the whole point was to give the artists tools not answers 😉 So two days will suffice.” – A.G.

“The songwriting seminar was so helpful! I learned so much about songwriting, format, inspiration, and the industry as a whole. I am finding that I am able to begin writing songs with a lot more ease and I am so thankful! Patrice and Jared are a songwriting mentor dream team!”-R.L.

I found a vast amount of resources from this seminar. Learning about the structure of a song and learning methods used by professionals was incredible. Experiencing a professional studio and working with Patrice and Jared made a huge impact on me and my pursuit to become a professional artist. This Course allowed my songwriting ability to climb to a new height. I would highly recommend taking this course!” -A.D.

“All in all it was an incredible experience and was my first opportunity to record in a studio so thank you so much. I learned a ton about song structure so that was one of the main things I took away from it but thanks to you I also learned about the business side of songwriting and how to promote a track after it’s been produced. I’m excited for more events like this to broaden my understanding of the music industry, thanks so much.”-A. L
