June: Music Theory with Juilliard Graduate Peter Melo!

Have you ever heard a note and wondered what you were singing? Have you ever questioned whether or not you were singing off pitch? If you want to understand the notes you are hearing and singing, then this is the class for you! Music theory is the study of music composition, and learning the basics of reading, writing, and understanding written music will help you learn and understand your songs in a new way! Music theory is the language of our art, come learn the vocabulary of music in this 4 week introductory course!

When: Saturday’s June 17th & 24th and July 8th & 15th. (July 1st not included)

Time: 10-11:30am

About Mr. Melo:

Mr. Melo was a choir director at “La Scuola D’Italia” from 1998 – 2016, and is a music theory and piano teacher. He has taught music theory and history, organized and performed with “La Scuola d’Italia” choir in concert halls such as Lincoln Center and Carnegie Hall. He has also performed for great artistic figures like Luciano Pavarotti and others. Since 1991, Mr. Melo has lived in the US, studied conducting with Professor Judith Clurman at Juilliard School NY, music theory and jazz composition with Mrs. LeeAnn Ledgerwood at Mannes College of Music NY, and orchestration with Professor Peter Bellino at Mannes College of Music NY.
