Music theory is the study of music composition, and learning the basics of reading, writing, and understanding written music will help you learn and understand your songs in a new way! Music theory is the language of our art, come learn the vocabulary of music in this 4 week introductory course!

About Mr. Melo:
Mr. Melo was a choir director at “La Scuola D’Italia” from 1998 – 2016, and is a music theory and piano teacher. He has taught music theory and history, organized and performed with “La Scuola d’Italia” choir in concert halls such as Lincoln Center and Carnegie Hall. He has also performed for great artistic figures like Luciano Pavarotti and others. Since 1991, Mr. Melo has lived in the US, studied conducting with Professor Judith Clurman at Juilliard School NY, music theory and jazz composition with Mrs. LeeAnn Ledgerwood at Mannes College of Music NY, and orchestration with Professor Peter Bellino at Mannes College of Music NY.
